Idiosyncrasy
I wish I was a snowflake,
floating in the wind.
I wish I could accumulate,
just to melt away.
Crunch me underfoot.
Toss me in the air.
Catch me on your tongue.
Instead, I am a leaf,
last one clinging to the branch.
Brown and decrepit,
squeeze me, I will crumble.
I wish I was a raindrop,
falling from the ether.
If I was, I'd choose to land
upon your lips,
just like one
last kiss.
Instead, I am the sun,
drowning you in heat.
Burning, scorching.
I will take the water from your veins,
leave you dried to the bone.
I will kill you all.
