Breaking through the sky
Alexandra Smith
You make me feel better, you make me feel calm
You understand my ways, even though sometimes I’m wrong
Your vibe sooths me, as raindrops hit the ground
We close our eyes, as we listen to the echoing sound
You remind me of a version of the crowded clouds
As each drop falls different, all scattered around
The clouds start to break, in each step we take
You bring me closer, while we watch the sky break
As the waves crash, we dig our feet into the sand
Birds flying south, while we remain hand in hand.
Your scent is like raindrops hitting concrete
Each drop falls so gently, at last, I can finally breathe
While the black and white take over the sky
While the thunder breaks hearts, but we can’t understand why
The lighting strikes, breaking through your reality
The world begins to spin, suddenly changing your mentality
You’re like a storm but it draws me in closer
Skies about to fall, so I lose my composure
Both so dangerous, but I can stop
I guess I’ll just close my eyes, and listen for the next raindrop
