Mercurial Dreams

Fragmented thoughts.
Shards of shattered crystal.
A stained glass window
Into a world of dreams.
A world where up is down,
Down is North,
And no one is really sure of where North is;
It will be different tomorrow anyway.

A sharp and deadly prism
The crystal cave where Merlin slept
Oh so many years ago.

Down to walls,
Walls to infinity,
Infinity in a teaspoon.
Quicksilver dreams –
Impossible thoughts

The Beast lives there,
In the quicksilver.
He has his wiles,
Bringing you in with
Fanciful tempting,
Then drowning you
In his bright, cold, mercury lake.

Beautiful Art shatters
Into shards of shattered crystal,
Only fragmented thoughts
And bitter tastes of long lost mercury
