Nor'easter
Ali Memhard

Pressure shift; wind fills emptiness,

heavy skies hanging over frost-burnt fields

silhouette sun behind nimbostratus.

Frozen fragments waterfalling in pieces:

clinging the fir needles and bare boughs

turning terra firma from tan to white.

Broken branches sleep on power lines

Electricity shivering in somnolent shelters

sheer shards clinging to frigid shingles.

Pressure shift: nimbostratus exits.
