The Man Never With Her
Matthew Guresh

I gaze into her eyes, no deeper.
My stare, the key to free her.
From all the pain,
The suffering, the strain.
A feeling never so sweeter.

My heart is hers to take,
From this nightmare, she needs to wake.
With open arms,
Away from harm,
My grasp will make no mistake.

I walk her home with no intention.
Her secrets we never mention.
But that bracelet she wears,
With pride and care,
Grabs my soul’s attention.

Nights with her, everlasting.
Life stories, never contrasting.
Our bodies bruised,
Our minds abused.
To others a façade, we are casting.

When she left my life, I panicked.
My actions and thoughts, so frantic.
I miss her glow,
My heart explodes.
My love for her, volcanic.

The days grow longer, my will is fading.
This life to take, I’m debating.
I fear and doubt,
I can’t live without.
This world not worth remaining.

Come now noose, romance me.
A dreamer’s sleep I fancy.
The rope is tied,
I will no survive.
To a new world the eye can’t see.

Black and White, the classic attire.
A glimpse at my body, they deny her.
Through the cries and screams,
It really seems,
She knew no one was beside her.

I gaze into her eyes, no deeper.
My stare, the key to free her.
From all the pain,
The suffering, the strain.
I am the man that will never be with her.
